Page 84: The Kirchner Gambit, 2008

Old Blood is filled with facts spun into fiction.  This blog seeks to add more color and background to the facts.

On page 84 of Old Blood, a plan is hatched to solve the financial problems of the United States by seizing the private property of its citizens.  Like the rest of Old Blood, it is outrageous fiction.  Except...

The property-seizure gambit in Old Blood is modeled on the real-life seizure of pension assets by the Argentine government of Cristina Kirchner.  In the fall of 2008, the government of Argentina was rapidly running out of money and had no means to borrow more.  In October, Cristina Kirchner announced that she would be seizing private property "to protect the people".

Old Blood Available!

Welcome!

Old Blood is now available at Lulu.com (http://www.lulu.com/product/paperback/old-blood/5428956)

It will be available soon at Amazon and other outlets.

We are working on a website, which will be live at www.oldblood.info very soon.

This blog will provide further background and information about the history, locations, situations and characters in Old Blood.  I don't do a lot of explication in the text, so here's my chance to "open up the files" for those who are interested.
